As an important member of the toy family, plush toys have their own unique methods and standard requirements in terms of technological process and production methods. Only by understanding and strictly following its craftsmanship can we produce high-quality plush toy products.

From the perspective of a large frame, the production and processing of plush toys is mainly divided into three parts: cutting, sewing and finishing. The production and processing of plush toys are described in the following three parts:


1. Cutting

The traditional cutting methods mainly include hot cutting, cold cutting and manual cutting. Now some factories have begun to use laser cutting, and some places use net cutting machines in the clothing industry for cutting. Different fabrics can choose different tailoring methods. Generally speaking, manual cropping is relatively inaccurate and inefficient. 


Cold cutting is to use steel abrasives combined with presses to cut toy fabrics. It is suitable for multi-layer cutting of relatively thin fabrics with high efficiency. 

Hot cutting is a plate-shaped mold made of gypsum board and hot fuse, which is fused and cut toy fabrics after being electrified. This hot cutting method is more suitable for chemical fiber, thicker fabrics, and cannot be cut in multiple layers. 

The new laser cutting accuracy is very high, the labor cost is relatively low, but the speed is slightly slower, and the price of the machine is relatively expensive. Of course, the double-head laser cutting machine can make up for the lack of speed. The issues to be paid attention to in cutting are the wool direction of the fabric, the color difference and the number of pieces, etc., and the cutting must be scientifically typeset, which can save a lot of fabrics and avoid unnecessary waste. The safety of cutting this off electricity consumption is particularly important.


2. Sewing

The sewing process is to sew the cut toy pieces together to form the basic shape of the toy, so as to facilitate the later filling and finishing, and finally complete the product. Most of the sewing machines used in the toy industry are industrial high-speed lockstitch machines. 


Household sewing machines are not suitable for the production and processing of plush toys. Everyone in the industry knows that in the sewing process, the alignment of stitching size and marking points is very important. 

Most toys have a seam size of 5mm, some small toys can use a 3mm seam allowance, if the seam size is different, there will be deformation or asymmetry, such as the left and right legs are different in size; if the marking point The stitching is not aligned, such as: limb distortion, face shape aliasing, etc. 


Different toy fabrics in use should pay attention to use different needles and needle plates. Most of the thinner fabrics use 12# and 14# sewing machine needles, and use needle plates with small eyes: 16# and 18 are commonly used for thicker fabrics. # of needles and use a large eye needle plate. 

During the sewing process, always pay attention to no jumpers, adjust the number of stitches for different sizes of toy material, and pay attention to the integrity of the stitches. Pay attention to the reverse needle at the starting position of the stitched material to avoid the stitching of the stitched material. 


In the toy sewing process, the relatively difficult parts are the sewing of the head of the toy and the parts of the soles of the feet, such as sewing ears and turning the soles of the feet, which require higher skills and physical fitness. Other aspects, such as adjusting the height of the machine according to the thickness of the fabric, selecting the same color line according to the fabric, etc., are some general precautions.


3. Finishing

From the perspective of the types of processes and equipment, the finishing processes include eye punching, skin turning, filling, seaming, facial processing, plastic surgery, hair blowing, thread trimming, needle inspection, packaging, etc. The equipment includes air compressor, needle inspection machine, cotton filling machine, eye punching machine, carding machine, hair dryer, etc.
